Salt Lake City, UT
/ March 1, 2008 / Press Release / -- While much the country is
wondering what to expect next from the housing market, there are those
within state government that have chosen to remain proactive. No
better example of that came in February when Perfect Home Living sat
down with the Utah Department of Financial Institutions to discuss
alarming real estate fraud trends now making their way through regulated
financial lending institutions in the state of Utah.
"For us as an
organization the experience was fulfilling and certainly we would love
to see this type of interaction between non-profit and government sector
occurring more frequently," says Sheri Fitzpatrick, CEO of the
non-profit Perfect Home Living that exclusively works cases where real
estate fraud is alleged. "We see a lot of victims as a result of
our bringing Freddie Mac's Don't Borrow Trouble Hotline to the state of
Utah. This flow of intelligence gathered from victims is
invaluable and we wanted to make sure that financial lending
institutions although independent are all made aware of
intelligence that we have been gathering in preparation for our launch
of the 2008 State of the Market Report on Real Estate Fraud," she
continued.
Eva Rees of the
Utah Department of Financial Institutions spearheaded this monumental
effort.
