Perfect
Home Living INC., is a nonpartisan non profit committed to real estate
fraud research and establishing policy that prevents fraud from
continuing within the real estate industry.
In the years leading
up to the 2002 Winter Olympic Games in Salt Lake City, Utah the state
experienced a boom in real estate sales. The wave of speculative
home buying catapulted as exposed families, seniors and minorities
facing financial hardship turned to these investors for help but in the
process lost financial wealth and security for themselves and their
families through the loss of their homes.
In the
years that followed the State of Utah would witness increases in fraud
that would cause national and international headlines. With a
population of slightly more than 2.6 million people, Utah was able to
earn the top spot in the nation for foreclosures and bankruptcies.
According to the Office of the Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight
for the past seven quarters Utah has managed double-digit appreciation gains in
the housing market a factor contributed mainly to fraud.
